So if you are beginning 6th year in September, these tips might be of use to you.

• Get your books organized.

You are about to experience a whole new level of stress once the year begins, so it's ideal to have a lot of things planned out in advance.

• Don't bother studying over the summer.

Unless you are some child prodigy, you will most definitely burn out in October/November if you study too much in the summer. The summer is given to us students for a reason - make use of it! You won't be able to have all this free time for much longer. Take this advice please!

• Come to terms with what you will have to do soon

It is important to realize that you will be doing a lot of work in the next year; it's genuinely sad. But see this as a positive - you can enjoy yourself now and when the time comes, you can slowly start studying and bump up the pace close to Christmas. Don't go ham in September either!

• Have a brief recap of 5th year

How did you do in your exams (Christmas/summer)? Are you proud of these results or do you wish that you did more work? There's absolutely no problem with being disappointed with either of these. It's most important that you pick yourself back up and stop feeling bad for yourself. The next year is truly a constituent of YOU.

• And most importantly, HAVE FUN!

It's the summer, there is absolutely no need to stress - leave that till next year. If I were you, I would maybe go on holiday, go out with friends, or do something you love. These things might be limited for the next period of your life so it's essential that you enjoy them now!
